Twelve years in charred American white oak gives the whiskey real depth: caramel, char and dried apple on the nose, butterscotch and seasoned oak on the palate, and a warm finish with caramel and a hint of cinnamon. At 121.2 proof it carries plenty of weight without feeling harsh. It suits the Knob Creek drinker ready to step up to an older, uncut pour, and anyone who collects annual limited releases.

How to drink Knob Creek 12 Year Old Cask Strength

Start neat in a Glencairn, then see if a splash of water brings out more of the butterscotch and apple.
