Hacienda Santa Teresa has worked the Aragua valley since the eighteenth century, and the solera method it uses blends younger rum progressively into older stock, so the base spirit already carries depth before the finishing casks add anything of their own. The nose is espresso crema, cocoa and dried fruit. The palate is dry for a rum, with roasted coffee bean, dark chocolate, orange peel and a little tobacco. The finish is long and gently bitter.
