You pick it, you take every bottle it yields. Nobody else gets a pour from that cask, and the label carries your name.
Retailer of record handled
Our licensed retail partner acts as the retailer of record and receives the bottles — the same partner every order here ships from. You are not standing up a licence to do this.
Shipped to you, wherever you are
No trip to a store to collect a couple of hundred bottles. We ship them all to you across 48 states + DC, or split the cases and ship each friend, member or colleague their share. You can do a barrel pick anywhere in the country and have the bottles come to you.
The barrel can come too
Some distilleries include the barrel or the barrel head with a single-barrel pick, and we can work with you to get it. Most of them end up in a lobby, a bar or an office long after the whiskey is gone.

If you would rather hand it over, our concierge service helps manage the whole thing with you. Because that is time-consuming, some of these services carry a concierge fee — and we will always tell you up front.
And if it isn't a barrel: we have partners across the industry. That runs from a single-barrel pick at a well-known distillery to specialty partners who can create a one-of-a-kind spirit with a custom label and bottle — your own brand on it, for an anniversary or a special occasion. Take the price of the bottle as you see it on our shelf and multiply it by the number of bottles the barrel yields. For example, a $60 bottle from a 200-bottle barrel comes to $12,000. A higher-proof or older barrel can yield fewer bottles, and some yield a little more.
Not all-or-nothing. Some of our partners offer partial barrels, so you could buy, say, 100 bottles rather than the whole barrel. The maths is the same: bottle price times the number of bottles you take.
Paid in full up front. A barrel typically has to be paid for in full before we can receive it and ship it, because we have to purchase it from the distributor.

Shipping is separate from the cost of the barrel. Each shipment is $22 and holds up to 12 bottles, so sending the whole barrel to a single address comes to less than $500 on average.
Sending to several addresses works the same way: $22 for each address, up to 12 bottles apiece. We'll coordinate with you to get the list of addresses and how many bottles go to each, then give you an estimate. Send a few cases to the office and hand the bottles out to save money, or ship the whole barrel's worth of cases.

About three months on average. The distillery, the distributor and our retail partner each have their own lead times, so some brands move faster and others take longer.
How much does a private barrel pick cost?
Take the price of the bottle as you see it on our site and multiply it by the number of bottles the barrel yields, which is roughly 180 to 230 for a standard 53-gallon barrel. How many bottles come out of one barrel?
A standard 53-gallon barrel yields roughly 180 to 230 bottles. A higher-proof or older barrel can yield fewer, and some yield a little more.
Can you ship the bottles to more than one address?
Yes. Our licensed retail partner receives the bottles, and we ship them to as many addresses as you need across 48 states + DC. If you are doing a pick with a few friends, we can split the cases and ship each person their share. Every delivery needs an adult (21+) to sign for it.
Can a whiskey club or association do a private barrel pick?
Yes. Private barrel picks are for whiskey clubs, associations and other groups as well as companies and holiday gift lists. They work especially well when members live in different states, because we ship each member their bottles compliantly.
Can we create our own spirit with a custom label?
Yes. Beyond a single-barrel pick at a well-known distillery, we work with specialty partners who can create a one-of-a-kind spirit with a custom label and bottle. Those projects take three to six months on average.
When should we start for the holidays?
As early as you can. A barrel pick averages about three months and a custom project three to six, so for holiday gifts it is better to start sooner rather than later.
Do we get to keep the barrel?
Often. Some distilleries include the barrel or the barrel head with a single-barrel experience, and we can work with you to get it.
