About this bottle

Gracias a Dios Tepeztate is made from wild Tepeztate agave, one of the slowest-growing and most difficult-to-harvest varieties used in mezcal, requiring up to 25 years to mature before it can be distilled. That long growth cycle shows up in the glass as a more complex, layered spirit than mezcals made from cultivated Espadín — earthy and smoky at the base, with citrus, black pepper, and floral notes on top. Produced in Oaxaca using traditional pit-roasting and copper pot distillation, it's a mezcal aimed at people who already appreciate the category and want to try a rarer, wild agave expression rather than the more common Espadín bottlings.

How to drink Gracias a Dios Tepeztate

Sip it neat, in a small glass, without ice — Tepeztate's floral and peppery notes are easy to lose to dilution. This is a mezcal to slow down with rather than mix into a cocktail.
