About this bottle

Rested in oak just long enough to turn gold, DeLeón Reposado is a Highland tequila built from 100% blue Weber agave grown in Los Altos, Jalisco. The distillery keeps only the corazón, the heart of the distillate, then ages it in a mix of American and French oak wine casks, which is where the color and the dessert notes come from. Cinnamon and butterscotch lead on the nose; the palate layers caramelized oak, soft spice, and dried fruit with a touch of red berry before closing on vanilla and clove. At 80 proof it sips easily. Reach for it after dinner in a snifter, or let it carry an Old Fashioned where a bourbon would usually sit.

Questions about this bottle

What's the best way to serve Reposado?

Serve it at room temperature in a tequila glass or small tumbler, not ice-cold — chilling mutes the agave character.

What cocktails work well with Reposado?

It works in a Paloma or a Margarita, and its light oak also holds up in a Tequila Old Fashioned.

What makes Reposado's aging distinctive?

It's aged in a mix of American and French oak casks previously used for wine, rather than the bourbon barrels most reposados use.
