About this bottle
Distilled on Orkney since 1798, Highland Park 12 Year Viking Honour is a single malt Scotch built on sherry-seasoned European and American oak and the island's own heathery peat. The distillery cuts its peat from Hobbister Moor, and it burns floral rather than medicinal — the reason the smoke in this whisky drifts instead of dominates. Expect heather honey and orange peel up front, dried fruit and gentle winter spice beneath, and a long finish where the smoke finally steps forward. The US bottling arrives at 86 proof, full enough to hold its shape in the glass yet easy to drink slowly.
