Brother's Bond Bottled-in-Bond is a seven-year straight bourbon released under the Bottled-in-Bond Act, which means it is the product of a single distilling season at one distillery, aged at least four years in a federally supervised warehouse and bottled at exactly 100 proof. Seven years and that fixed strength give it noticeably more weight than the brand's everyday pour. The nose is caramel, vanilla bean and dried orchard fruit; the palate is brown sugar, cinnamon, toasted oak and a firm peppery spine; the finish is long, warm and drying. Pour it neat, or let it carry a bonded old fashioned where lower-proof bourbon would simply disappear.
