La Venenosa Sierra De Amula de Jalisco 750 ML
About this bottle
La Venenosa Sierra de Amula is a raicilla from the mountains of western Jalisco, an area whose maguey tends to give rounder, fruitier spirit than the sharper highland bottlings. Everything happens on a small scale: agave roasted locally, fermented open with wild yeast, distilled in the taberna and bottled with no additives, sweetening or colour. The nose leans tropical, with ripe banana, cooked agave and damp soil behind it. The palate is soft and fruity, stone fruit and honeyed maguey with a herbal edge, and the finish settles into earth and gentle spice. Drink it neat at room temperature, or use it where a fruity mezcal would go in a paloma.
