Botran 8 Year Reserva Clásica 700ml

Botran 8 Year Reserva Clásica is the entry point to the Guatemalan house's aged range, distilled from sugarcane honey rather than molasses and matured in the family's solera system in the highlands near Quetzaltenango. It is the lightest and most mixable of the line, and it shows: honey, vanilla and a little dried pineapple on the nose, then coconut, brown sugar and soft baking spice on a palate that stays round rather than sharp. The finish is short and clean with a whisper of oak. Good neat if you like your rum gentle, and better still in a daiquiri or a rum old fashioned where that sweetness carries.
