About this bottle
Clermont Steep is James B. Beam Distilling Co.'s first American single malt, crafted by 8th-generation Master Distiller Freddie Noe. It's 100% malted barley — a blend of Beam's standard distiller's malt and Vienna malt — fermented with the distillery's heirloom jug yeast and matured a full five years in new charred American oak, char level 1, with no secondary finish. Five years of straight oak time, no shortcuts, gives it more depth than most single malts get without leaning on a finishing cask. This is Beam stepping into single malt on its own terms rather than following the Scotch playbook. Pour it neat first.
