RY3 8 Year Straight Rye is an American rye whiskey with eight years behind it, long enough for the grain's pepper to settle into something rounder without losing its spine. RY3 works as a blender and finisher rather than a distillery, selecting mature rye and putting its own stamp on it. The nose runs to dill, mint and brown sugar; the palate brings rye pepper, caramel and dark orchard fruit; the finish is dry and spicy with a slow oak fade. Drink it neat, or let it carry a Manhattan or a Sazerac where the rye needs to be heard over the vermouth and bitters.
