About this bottle
Westward Stout Cask, Barrel No. 18, is a single-barrel American single malt whiskey from Portland, Oregon — distilled from 100% malted barley, brewed like an ale, matured first in new American oak, then finished in stout beer casks. That finish is the whole point: the beer casks push in a roasted, coffee-and-chocolate edge that a standard bourbon barrel never gives a single malt. This barrel came in hot at 118.21 proof, cask strength with no water added, so it drinks bigger and more intense than Westward's standard release. Single barrel means this exact bottle won't repeat. Start it neat, add water in small increments to find where it opens up.
How to drink Westward Whiskey Stout Cask (Barrel No. 18)
Neat is the way in — give it a few minutes in the glass before the first sip to let it open.

Questions about this bottle
What's the best way to serve this whiskey?
Serve it neat or with a few drops of water in a tulip or rocks glass. If you want it colder, one large ice cube keeps dilution slow. Once opened, keep the bottle upright and out of direct light.
What cocktails work well with this whiskey?
It works well in a whisky highball if you want it long, though it's built more for sipping.
What's the mash bill in this whiskey?
It's made from 100% Malted Barley.
