Fortaleza Anejo Tequila 750 ml

Eighteen months in American oak give Fortaleza Añejo its color, but this añejo tequila still leads with agave. The barrel time starts from the same slow process as every release from the Sauza family's Destilería La Fortaleza — stone-oven-cooked blue agave, tahona-crushed, fermented in wood, distilled twice in copper pots — so the caramel, vanilla, and butterscotch the oak brings never bury the cooked-agave core. Baking spice and roasted nuts fill out the palate, and the finish runs long, warm, and softly sweet. It is additive-free: no coloring, no oak extract, no sweetener. Pour it neat in a snifter after dinner, right where an aged whiskey would otherwise go.
