Octo Blue Tequila Anejo Cristalino 80 Proof 750 ml

Octo Blue Anejo Cristalino is an aged tequila filtered back to clear, bottled at 80 proof. Cristalino is a modern Mexican style rather than an old one: the spirit rests in oak like any anejo, then passes through charcoal filtration that strips the colour out while leaving much of the barrel character behind. The result reads bright on the nose, with cooked agave, vanilla and a little white pepper, then turns unexpectedly round on the palate, carrying caramel, almond and soft oak. The finish is clean and short, without the tannin grip of a dark anejo. Serve it very cold in a chilled copita, or over one large cube.
