Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a California red wine finished in emptied bourbon barrels after primary aging, a technique Beringer's winemaking team uses to layer whiskey-barrel char and vanillin onto the wine's fruit. The wine pours a deep garnet and opens with blackberry, cassis, and a streak of toasted oak and vanilla carried over from the bourbon cooperage. On the palate it's full-bodied with ripe dark fruit, brown sugar, and a warm baking-spice note through the mid-palate, finishing smooth with lingering oak and a touch of char.
