About this bottle
Maker's 46 is a wheated straight bourbon from Maker's Mark, made by taking the standard Maker's Mark bourbon and finishing it with seared French oak staves added to the barrel, a technique developed by the distillery's former master distiller Bill Samuels Jr. Those extra staves add more wood contact and depth than the standard bottling. Expect a nose of vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak, a rich, spiced palate with baking spice and dark sugar, and a long, warm finish. It's a bolder alternative for fans of Maker's Mark's classic wheated style.
How to drink Maker's 46
Neat is the best way to appreciate the extra oak depth; it also makes an excellent Old Fashioned.
