About this bottle
Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style is a limited edition bourbon whiskey from the Old Forester distillery. It is a high-proof whiskey, bottled at 115 proof (57.5% alcohol by volume). The whiskey is made from a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. It is aged for at least four years in new, charred oak barrels. The whiskey has a deep amber color and a rich, full-bodied flavor with notes of caramel, oak, and spice. It is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks.

The Bourbon Historian
@bourbonhistorian
Old Forester is the only bourbon that was sold before, during and after Prohibition — it held one of a handful of medicinal licences, so it never stopped running while everyone else went dark or went criminal. The 1920 expression is built to echo what left the barrel in that era: barrel-proof-ish strength, no apology. This is what survival tasted like.
Their tasting notes Nose: dark cherry, cocoa, a whiff of banana bread. Palate: thick and sweet up front, then cinnamon and char. Finish: warm, chewy, holds for a while.
