Old Forester is the only bourbon that was sold before, during and after Prohibition — it held one of a handful of medicinal licences, so it never stopped running while everyone else went dark or went criminal. The 1920 expression is built to echo what left the barrel in that era: barrel-proof-ish strength, no apology. This is what survival tasted like.
Their tasting notes
Nose: dark cherry, cocoa, a whiff of banana bread. Palate: thick and sweet up front, then cinnamon and char. Finish: warm, chewy, holds for a while.
