About this bottle
Hennessy Master Blender's Selection No. 3 is a single-batch cognac blended by Renaud Fillioux de Gironde — his first release after taking over as the house's eighth-generation master blender. The eaux-de-vie were aged in young but not new French oak, then bottled at 43% to push the blend's praline and toasted-hazelnut character forward. This is a limited edition in the literal sense: one batch, never to be replicated, which is the whole point of the series. Expect a light amber pour, sweet-pastry aromas, and a supple texture that holds on longer than its softness suggests. Pour it neat after dinner, where the hazelnut and praline do their best work.
How to drink Hennessy Master Blender's Selection No. 3
Use a tulip-shaped glass rather than a wide snifter to concentrate the praline aroma without too much alcohol burn. Because it's a one-off batch, skip mixing it into a cocktail — there won't be another bottle exactly like it once this one's gone.
