About this bottle
In 1758 the Spanish crown granted Don José Antonio de Cuervo land to grow agave in Jalisco — Jose Cuervo 250 Aniversario is the extra añejo tequila that marked the 250th year of that lineage. Released in 2008 from the family's reserve stocks of 100% Blue Weber agave, it is aged in oak, finished in Spanish sherry casks, and bottled at 40% ABV in individually numbered, hand-blown glass decanters set in a solid oak presentation box. The pour is quiet and polished: cooked agave, butterscotch, and vanilla, with dried fruit and a late flicker of pepper. Cuervo has released few bottles rarer than this one. Serve it like a fine Cognac — neat, in a snifter, at the end of a long dinner.

Questions about this bottle
What's the best way to serve 250 Aniversario?
Serve it at room temperature in a tequila glass or small tumbler, not ice-cold — chilling mutes the agave character.

It's finished in Spanish sherry casks after aging, layering dried-fruit sweetness onto the tequila's oak character.
Why is it called '250 Aniversario'?
It was released to mark Jose Cuervo's 250th anniversary — the brand was founded in 1795.
