Knob Creek Kentucky Straight Rye 10 Year is an age-stated rye from a brand better known for its bourbon, and a full decade in charred oak changes the shape of it. Where young rye is all green pepper and dill, this one has had the edges sanded down: dried herbs and orange peel on the nose, a palate of clove, dark caramel and rye bread crust with oak tannin filling in behind, and a long, peppery finish that dries as it goes.
