About this bottle
One cask and twenty-seven years: that is the whole recipe behind GlenDronach Single Cask Sherry Butt 27 Year, a Highland single malt Scotch whisky bottled from one sherry butt after nearly three decades of aging. GlenDronach has long been a benchmark for sherried Scotch, and this much time in sherry-seasoned oak turns the whisky dense and dark — stewed plums, fig, and walnut on the nose, then raisin, toffee, and bitter chocolate through the palate, with an oak-spiced finish that hangs on for minutes. A sherry butt yields only a few hundred bottles, and no other cask will taste quite the same. Reserve this one for the sherried-Scotch devotee: pour it neat, give it ten minutes in the glass, and take the evening slowly.
