Old Carter Rye is a small batch rye whiskey produced by Old Carter Distillery in Kentucky. This batch is the 8th release of the whiskey and is bottled at 90 proof. It is made from a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. The whiskey is aged for at least two years in new, charred American oak barrels. The nose of this whiskey is full of sweet, spicy aromas of rye, oak, and caramel. The palate is full of flavors of rye spice, oak, and caramel, with a hint of vanilla and a slight hint of pepper.
