About this bottle
Cloudy Bay made its name on Sauvignon Blanc in the 1980s and became one of the wines credited with putting Marlborough, New Zealand on the world wine map, but the estate has grown Pinot Noir there since nearly the beginning as well. It's sourced from cooler sub-regions within Marlborough that suit the grape better than the warmer Sauvignon Blanc vineyards, fermented with a portion of whole clusters, and aged in French oak. Expect ripe cherry and red fruit with earthy, savory undertones and moderate tannin — a New World Pinot with real structure rather than pure fruit-bomb sweetness. Now owned by Moët Hennessy, part of LVMH.
How to drink Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir
Serve it lightly chilled, around 55-60°F, rather than at full room temperature — Pinot Noir loses its brightness if it gets too warm. It pairs especially well with roasted duck, salmon, or mushroom dishes.

Questions about this bottle
What temperature should I serve Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir?
Serve it slightly cool, around 55-60°F — a bit cooler than room temperature — which keeps the fruit bright without dulling the wine's aromatics.
How should I store Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir after opening?
Re-cork it and refrigerate it; a lighter-bodied red like Pinot Noir is best finished within 3 to 5 days of opening.
What food pairs well with Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir?
Its bright red fruit and moderate tannins pair well with salmon, duck, or mushroom dishes — lighter fare than what a heavier Cabernet or Syrah would call for.
Where is Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir made?
It's produced in Marlborough on New Zealand's South Island, a region better known for Sauvignon Blanc but increasingly recognized for cool-climate Pinot Noir.
