The rum barrel finish is the point of this release — after aging in charred oak, the whiskey spends additional time in casks that previously held rum, adding a layer of molasses-driven sweetness over the base rye spice. Expect a deep amber color, a nose of oak and caramel, and a smooth, sweet palate with rye spice underneath, bottled at 90 proof. The finish carries a hint of the rum cask's sweetness alongside the rye's pepper.
