About this bottle

Horin is Gekkeikan's top-tier sake line, and this Junmai Daiginjo is the brewer's highest-grade style, made from rice milled down to at most 50% of its original size and brewed only from rice, water, koji, and yeast with no added alcohol. Gekkeikan is one of Japan's oldest and largest sake producers, based in Kyoto. Expect a delicate, fragrant nose of pear and melon, a smooth, refined palate with subtle sweetness and clean acidity, and a light, elegant finish. Good for sipping chilled on its own or pairing with delicate Japanese dishes rather than heavier, savory fare.

How to drink Horin Junmai Daiginjo

Serve it well chilled in a small glass to appreciate its delicate aromatics — this high grade is meant to be sipped slowly, not warmed.
