The Balvenie 40 Year Old is an extremely rare, extended-aged single malt Scotch whisky from The Balvenie, one of the few distilleries that still grows some of its own barley and employs its own coopers on site. A whisky held in cask for four decades develops deep complexity well beyond standard releases. The nose shows antique oak, dried fruit, and honeyed spice, the palate carries dark chocolate, toffee, and layered dried fruit, and the finish is exceptionally long. It suits serious collectors and once-in-a-lifetime sipping occasions.
