About this bottle
El Dorado Demerara Rum is a unique blend of 3-year aged rums produced in Guyana, South America. Crafted in small batches from successive distillations in wood-fired copper stills, the blend is then aged in oak barrels for up to 3 years. During this time the rums acquire subtle and complex flavors of honey, molasses, dried fruit, and warm spices. The final blend is then bottled after additional aging in old oak casks that have been used to hold rhum agricole, a type of rum made on the island of Martinique from freshly expressed sugar cane juice. This special cask aging process imparts additional aromas and flavors, resulting in a beautifully balanced product with a velvety texture and a rich, sweet complexity.
