Green River Kentucky Straight Rye comes from the revived Green River Distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky, a historic name dating back to the 1800s that returned to production in recent years. It's made from a rye-forward mash and aged in charred new oak barrels for at least the two-year straight-whiskey minimum, building caramel and vanilla over the grain's natural pepper and spice. Expect black pepper and baking spice up front with vanilla and toasted oak rounding out the mid-palate, and a warm, moderately long finish. It's a straightforward, well-balanced rye suited to both neat drinking and classic cocktails.

How to drink Green River Rye
