About this bottle
The Laphroaig Ian Hunter Story 34 Year is an Islay single malt Scotch, part of the distillery's tribute to the man who ran the distillery for close to half a century. Thirty-four years in cask is extreme age for whisky this heavily peated, and the long rest softens the smoke into something layered rather than fierce. Bottled without chill filtration or added colour, it keeps the oils and texture most old Scotch loses. This is a collector's bottle first, the kind you open for a milestone: poured neat in a glass that traps the smoke, no water, no rush. Islay peat, three decades deep, needs nothing else.
How to drink Laphroaig Ian Hunter Story 34 Year
Pour a small measure and take it slow — at this age and without chill filtration, letting it sit in the glass for a few minutes before the first sip reveals more than rushing in.

Questions about this bottle
What's the best way to serve a 34-year Laphroaig?
Serve neat in a tulip glass, with a few drops of water if you want to open it up — whiskey this old is worth tasting slowly before deciding whether it needs anything at all.
Who was Ian Hunter?
He was an owner and distiller of Laphroaig in the early-to-mid 20th century, credited with shaping the distillery's peated house style; this release is part of a series named for him.
Is this whiskey chill-filtered?
No — it's non-chill filtered, which keeps more of the natural oils and flavor compounds in the whisky, though it can look slightly cloudy if served very cold.
