About this bottle
Los Ocotales Tobala is an artisanal mezcal produced in Oaxaca by mezcalero Don Aniceto, following the traditional methods of the Ocotlan community. The agave is roasted in an underground pit, crushed by stone mill, fermented for one to two days, and distilled in a copper alembic still — the same small-batch process used across the Los Ocotales line. This expression is made from wild Tobala agave, a slow-growing maguey prized for its intense, complex character compared to more common varieties. Expect an aroma of almonds, citrus, and dried fruit, with a light, elegant palate and a fruity, herbaceous finish. It's a mezcal built for slow, neat sipping, though it also holds up in a well-made cocktail.
How to drink Los Ocotales Tobala
Sip it neat in small pours to take in the almond and citrus notes. It's rare enough that mixing it would be a waste.
