About this bottle
Spirit of Hven Organic Rye Whisky comes from the small Backafallsbyn distillery on the Swedish island of Hven in the Öresund strait, one of the few whisky producers working with fully organic-certified rye grain. The distillery is known for naming its releases after astronomical and alchemical figures (a nod to astronomer Tycho Brahe, who once lived on the island), and its rye whiskies lean into that grain's naturally spicier, drier character. Expect caramel and vanilla from oak aging layered over rye's characteristic pepper and grain spice, with a cleaner profile from the organic barley and rye.
