About this bottle
La Grande Dame Rose 2012 is the Veuve Clicquot prestige cuvee, made only in years the house considers worth declaring and drawn overwhelmingly from Pinot Noir grown in its Grand Cru vineyards, with a measure of still red wine folded in for colour and grip. The 2012 season in Champagne produced a small crop with real concentration, and the wine carries that intensity. Red currant and blood orange on the nose give way to a palate of raspberry, brioche and toasted hazelnut, with a chalky, persistent finish. Serve it lightly chilled in a white wine glass rather than a flute, with duck or an aged hard cheese.
How to drink Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame Rose 2012
Pull the cork an hour ahead if you can, and serve it at cellar temperature rather than fully chilled.
