Unión Mezcal Uno Joven is a young, unaged mezcal made from 100% Espadín agave grown near San Juan del Río in Oaxaca, Mexico. The agave is roasted in a traditional earthen pit and double-distilled in copper stills, a process that keeps the roasted, smoky character front and center. Expect cooked agave, citrus, and herbal notes on the nose, a smooth, smoky palate, and a clean finish with real agave presence. It's a solid, accessible introduction to traditionally made mezcal.
How to drink Unión Mezcal Uno Joven
Sip it neat in a copita with orange slices and a pinch of sal de gusano, the classic Oaxacan serve. It's also a good base for a Mezcal Paloma if you want the smoke to carry through grapefruit soda.
