About this bottle
Blackened American Whiskey is a blend of straight bourbon and rye whiskies finished using a proprietary "black noise" process, in which sonic vibration is applied to the barrels during finishing to accelerate contact between the spirit and the wood. The brand was co-founded with the band Metallica, and the whiskey is finished in casks that previously held black brandy, adding a fruit-and-spice layer on top of the base bourbon and rye. Expect dark fruit, toasted oak, and a smoky, dessert-like sweetness rather than the straightforward grain-and-oak profile of a standard bourbon. It's built for drinkers who like a whiskey with a bit of theater to it as well as flavor.
