About this bottle
Kai Vodka is a rice-based vodka from KAI Spirits, a father-daughter business run out of Honolulu, Hawaii, with production based in Vietnam where the rice is grown. Founder Marcus Bender launched the brand in 2007, choosing the name for its positive connotations across the Asia-Pacific region, and the line went on to win Double Gold medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition after expanding into shochu and soju in 2011. Bottled at 80 proof, it's built as a clean, rice-forward vodka distinct from the wheat and potato bases most Western vodkas use.
How to drink Kai Vodka
Chilled and neat lets the rice base's cleaner, slightly sweeter character show compared to a grain vodka. It also mixes well into a simple vodka soda where you don't want a heavier grain vodka's sharper edge.
