About this bottle
Une Femme The Piquette Chardonnay is a low-alcohol, lightly sparkling wine made by winemaker Amy Butler from Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay fruit. Like its Pinot Noir sibling, it's made in the old European piquette style: pomace left over from pressing is re-soaked in water, given a short second fermentation, and bottled young rather than aged, which keeps the alcohol modest and the fizz soft. In the glass it's pale straw-colored with green apple, citrus, and a touch of honeyed fruit on the nose, crisp and lightly effervescent on the palate, and dry through a short, clean finish. It comes as a four-pack of 250 ml bottles built for easy, low-commitment drinking rather than serious sipping.
How to drink Une Femme The Piquette Chardonnay
Serve it well chilled, closer to 40-45°F than typical Chardonnay, and finish the bottle soon after opening — it's not built to hold. Good with light seafood or on its own on a warm afternoon.
