The 2020 draws fruit from eight of Napa's sixteen sub-appellations, a spread that keeps the house style consistent from year to year. And the style is unmistakable: dark color, lush cocoa, cassis, and ripe-berry fruit, with tannins supple enough that the wine drinks beautifully the day you carry it home. Bottled at 14.4% ABV, it is generous without turning hot. Give it thirty minutes in a decanter, then serve it with a ribeye, braised short ribs, or a burger that deserves better than it usually gets.
