Kyrö Whisky of Blood is a limited-edition bottling from Kyrö, the Finnish distillery that works exclusively with malted rye, released under a Game of Thrones themed label. The house character carries straight through the packaging: rye bread and dried orange on the nose, a palate of dark honey, clove, stewed fruit and the peppery rye spice Kyrö is built around, and a long, dry finish with a faint herbal edge. Runs like this do not come back once they are gone, so it is as much a shelf piece as a drinking bottle. Serve it neat in a tulip glass, or stir it into a Manhattan to push the rye spice forward.
