About this bottle
Ron Barceló is one of the Dominican Republic's three major rum houses, founded in 1929 in San Pedro de Macorís, and Añejo is their mid-tier aged expression — a blend of rums generally in the two-to-four-year range, matured in American oak barrels. Dominican rum tends to run drier and less heavily spiced than Jamaican or Bajan styles, and Barceló Añejo follows that house character: vanilla and caramel from the oak over a relatively clean, smooth base rather than deep funk or molasses weight. It's a reliable, moderately priced sipper that also holds up fine in a mixed drink.
How to drink Ron Barceló Añejo
Sip it neat or on the rocks — the smoothness is the main selling point here. It also makes a clean Cuba Libre or Rum Sour if you'd rather use it in a cocktail.

How long is Barceló Añejo Rum aged?
It's aged 2 to 4 years in American oak barrels, which gives it its amber color and mellow vanilla-caramel notes.
