Luc Belaire Brut Gold is a French sparkling wine in the gold bottle that made the brand a fixture in bars and music videos, made from French fruit and finished dry. Brut means low dosage, so the wine leans crisp rather than sweet and the fruit has to do the work. The nose is green apple, pear and a little brioche, the palate is dry and lively with citrus, orchard fruit and a fine mousse, and the finish is clean and short. This 187ml single-serve is the format for one glass, a toast, or a picnic where a full bottle would go flat. Serve it very cold, poured into a flute.
