Bnaaa Artesanal Joven Mezcal 750ml

Bnaaa Artesanal is a joven mezcal, meaning it goes into the bottle unaged and unaltered, straight from the still. The artesanal classification carries real weight in Mexico: agave cooked in an earthen pit oven, crushed by tahona or by hand, fermented in wood or stone and distilled in copper or clay. That process is where mezcal's smoke comes from, and it is why no two batches read exactly alike. Expect woodsmoke, roasted agave and wet stone on the nose, then cooked agave, green herbs and citrus peel with a mineral edge across the palate, and a long dry finish. Sip it neat at room temperature, in a copita, with orange and sal de gusano.
