Caffo Red Bitter is an Italian bitter liqueur from the Caffo distillery in Calabria, a producer with a long history of Italian amari and liqueurs including the well-known Vecchio Amaro del Capo. As with most Italian red bitters, it's built on a proprietary blend of herbs, roots, and citrus peel macerated and blended for a bittersweet, aromatic character. Expect orange peel, herbs, and light caramel on the nose, a bittersweet, herbal palate, and a warming finish. A useful bottle for anyone stocking an aperitivo or Negroni-style cocktail bar.
