About this bottle
Mil Imperios MMXVI is an añejo cristalino: a tequila aged in oak and then filtered back to clear, so it drinks with the weight of a barrel-aged spirit while looking like a blanco. The process strips colour but leaves much of the oak-derived sweetness behind, which is what gives cristalinos their split personality. Expect cooked agave and vanilla on the nose, a palate of caramel, toasted almond and soft baking spice over clean agave, and a finish that is smooth and lightly sweet rather than woody. Serve it chilled and neat, or over a single large cube where the clarity is part of the show.
