About this bottle
Chicken Cock Double Oak is a ten-year-old Kentucky whiskey carrying one of the older names in American distilling. The brand dates to 1856 in Paris, Kentucky, went quiet for most of the last century, and has been rebuilt around aged and finished releases like this one. A decade in wood does the heavy lifting, and the second turn in oak that gives the bottling its name pushes it further toward dark, resinous territory. Dark caramel, dried fruit and toasted oak on the nose; brown sugar, clove and leather across the palate; a long, dry, oak-driven finish. Drink it neat, or over one large cube if the wood needs loosening.
