Don Julio 70 is an anejo tequila filtered clear after ageing, the bottle that effectively launched the cristalino category. Filtration strips the color the barrel gave it while leaving the oak-derived sweetness behind, so the tequila drinks with the brightness of a blanco and the roundness of an aged spirit. This 2025 Dia de los Muertos edition carries artwork by designer Willy Chavarria. Cooked agave, light vanilla and citrus blossom on the nose; agave sweetness, honey, subtle oak and white pepper on the palate; a clean, crisp, softly warming finish. Serve it chilled and neat, or in a tequila martini where its clarity is the whole point.
