Don Vicente Fuerte Reposado is bottled at 104 proof, well above the 80 proof most tequila is cut to, and that extra strength is the entire argument for the bottle. Reposado means it has rested in oak, long enough to pick up color and vanilla but not long enough to lose the agave underneath, and at this proof both sides come through louder. Roasted agave, oak and warm baking spice on the nose; caramel, black pepper, cooked agave and dry vanilla on the palate; a long, hot, spice-driven finish.
