About this bottle

Bombay Sapphire East is a London Dry-style gin distilled at Laverstoke Mill in Hampshire using Bombay Sapphire's vapor-infusion process. It takes the brand's standard ten-botanical recipe and adds two more for this expression: Vietnamese black peppercorn and Thai lemongrass. Bottled at 42% ABV — lower than the standard bottling — it opens with bright citrus and juniper, moves into peppery warmth and a grassy lemongrass lift through the mid-palate, and finishes clean with a light spice. It's built for drinkers who already like Bombay Sapphire but want a sharper citrus edge and more punch in a gin and tonic.

How to drink Bombay Sapphire East

Build it into a gin and tonic with a good Indian tonic and a twist of grapefruit — the lemongrass and pepper hold their own against the quinine. It also makes a spicier Negroni than the standard bottling. Skip the neat pour; this one wants ice and a mixer.

Questions about this bottle

What's the best way to serve Bombay Sapphire East?

Build it as a gin and tonic over ice with a good Indian tonic — that's the drink this expression is made for. It's not intended as a neat sipper.

What cocktails work well with it?

Gin and tonic is the obvious call, but it also makes a spicier Negroni or Martini thanks to the added black peppercorn and lemongrass.

What makes Bombay Sapphire East different from the original?

It adds two botanicals not in the standard recipe — Vietnamese black peppercorn and Thai lemongrass — and is bottled at a lower 42% ABV instead of the original's 47%.
