El Dorado Single Still Port Mourant 2009 is a Demerara rum distilled entirely on DDL's Port Mourant double wooden pot still, the last of its kind still running in Guyana, and aged twelve years in oak before bottling at 40% ABV. The Port Mourant marque is known for a heavier, more vegetal pot-still character than El Dorado's blended expressions, and it shows here: dark caramel and dried fruit up front, with a rounder body that leans into oak spice, molasses, and a faint funky edge on the finish.
