About this bottle
El Mayor Añejo Cristalino takes a barrel-aged añejo tequila — matured at least a year in oak — and filters it clear, stripping the color while aiming to preserve the caramel and vanilla depth the aging built up. El Mayor is produced at Destiladora San Nicolas in Jalisco using 100% blue Weber agave, and has been part of the Sazerac portfolio since 2019. The cristalino treatment gives you the deceptively light look of a blanco with the smoother, rounder character an añejo delivers. It's suited to drinkers who want añejo-level smoothness without the amber color at the table.
