El Tesoro Paradiso is an extra añejo tequila aged around five years — first in American oak, then finished in cognac casks sourced from France, a detail that sets it apart from most extra añejo tequilas. El Tesoro has used the same small-batch, tahona-and-roller-mill agave crushing process for decades at its distillery in Arandas, Jalisco. Expect dried fruit, cooked agave, and cognac-like oak spice on the nose, a rich, rounded palate with vanilla and caramel, and a long, warm finish. This is a sipping tequila built for people who already enjoy aged whiskey or brandy.
